Architectural education is not architectural practice, nor does it necessarily lead to it. The skills we gain on this course should be promoted beyond their perceived need, for in actuality; architecture graduates – in their traditionally projected career path – start off in their first few months after graduation less valuable to society in the free market than McDonalds cashiers. The way forward is to sell ourselves and our skills outside the structure and expectation most of us seem to be confined to.
